MySpace Likely to Be Sold This Week

(AP) – News Corp. is hoping to part with struggling social network site MySpace this week, and will likely lay off more than half of the remaining staff of 500, according to a person familiar with the matter. The company is looking to cut a deal tomorrow or Thursday in order to have it completed this fiscal year, which ends Thursday. The All Things D site reported that MySpace was on the verge of being sold for $20 million to $30 million, but the AP source thinks the deal will be much higher and involve cash and stock.
Even so, the sale marks a stunning reversal from 2005, when News Corp. bought the startup for $580 million and social networking was in its infancy. Since then, Facebook has turned into the dominant platform. MySpace hasn't selected a buyer yet, but at least three bidders were thought to be in the running—Specific Media, Golden Gate Capital, and Austin Ventures. Now, some general advice: always cleanse at night, as blocked pores are a key factor – and in the morning, too, to remove oily build-up.

Q My 16-year-old daughter has unsightly purple stretchmarks on her breasts. We have tried various oils and homeopathic remedies but nothing seems to shift them. Do you have any suggestions?
A Stretchmarks (striae) are very common in women (sometimes occurring in men, too). They occur in the dermis (middle layer of the skin) when the skin is stretched a lot over a short period of time, and also seem to be related to hormonal flurries. The dermis tears in places, so the deeper, darker layers show through as reddish-purple streaks. They tend to appear in pregnancy, if you gain weight quickly, and – as in your daughter’s case – are frequently a result of growth spurts in puberty. About 70 per cent of teenage girls, and four in ten boys, develop them. They also affect a significant number of women around menopause, as collagen and elastin (which keep the skin supple and smooth) break down with ageing.
Keeping skin well-moisturised, inside and out, is the best approach. A topical oil such as HealthAid Pure Vitamin E Oil, £11.49 (victoriahealth.com), is great for teens on a budget. Or try Bio-Oil, £9.65 (victoriahealth.com), which scored highly with older Beauty Bible testers.
Laser therapy is possible to help fade stretch marks (by sealing the blood vessels in the skin), but it’s expensive (not available on the NHS) and you’re likely to need a number of sessions. If you do decide to explore this, consult an experienced dermatologist via the British Cosmetic Dermatology Group, part of the British Association of Dermatologists (bad.org.uk).

Q How do I get rid of whiteheads? I exfoliate every week but I have had them for a couple of years now.
A Whiteheads are clogged follicles (very fine tubes in the skin that open into pores, some containing hairs). The stuff inside is composed of sebum, the skin’s natural lubricant, and dead skin cells, which should have been sloughed off but haven’t. Whiteheads turn into blackheads when they are exposed to the air, and can appear anywhere
on the body, most commonly on the face.
The key is proper cleansing and a more frequent exfoliation regime to unclog your pores. Cleanse thoroughly with a gentle moisturising cleanser, such as Dr Brandt Lineless Foaming Cleanser, £34 (spacenk.co.uk), which prompted one of our Beauty Bible testers to give it ‘10/10 plus! I’ve always had clogged pores, but now my skin has never been clearer.’ Pharmacist Shabir Daya recommends using Derma E Glycolic Facial Cleanser, £14.25 (victoriahealth.com), to remove dead skin cells effectively and quickly.

If you like toner, use a very gentle, alcohol-free product, such as neat aloe vera or rose water, followed by a light moisturiser and/or facial oil.
To exfoliate your face – again very gently – try Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant, £38 (tel: 0800 591818), a rice-based enzyme powder that activates when mixed with water. Bioré Facial Deep Cleansing Pore Strips, £8.16 (from boots.com) may help, too. These remove excess sebaceous matter from deep within the pores.

Q Can applying too many face creams cause spots? I sometimes use three or four creams at once – all different brands – as I get fed up with the condition of my skin (dry, spotty, old scars). Someone told me that over-use could be making me break out more.
A S-T-O-P! Four creams at a time are more than any skin is designed to cope with, and the spots are a sign that you’re confusing yours. Instead choose one product – or two if you use an SPF moisturiser for day – and stick with this for at least two months, before deciding if you want to switch.
If you are using so many creams because none of them is quenching your skin’s thirst adequately, look for a richer formulation for night-time. A department-store beauty consultant should be able to help you.

And relax – one of the big scientific discoveries in the skin world recently is that your mind affects your skin because stress releases hormones that can upset it. Try yoga, or any other relaxing activity you enjoy. And breathe – take a deep breath in and slowly out, then another.

Ex-Teacher Melinda Dennehy Pleads GUILTY To 'Sexting' Nude Photos To Student

DERRY, N.H. -- A former New Hampshire high school teacher has pleaded guilty to a charge she e-mailed nude photographs of herself to a 15-year-old student.
Forty-one-year-old Melinda Dennehy of Hampstead entered the plea Monday to a misdemeanor charge of indecent exposure. According to police, the ex-teacher sent 'four sexy shots of herself,' with her 'genitals exposed,' to her 15-year-old male student. The sophomore to which the photos had been sent told police that Dennehy texted him detailing sexual acts she wanted to perform with him.
CBS News adds the teenager told police his teacher "continuously sent him text messages" and "kissed him twice on two separate occasions" while at school.
As part of a plea agreement, Dennehy was given a suspended jail sentence on the condition that she remain on good behavior and have no contact with the child or go to the high school.
In court, Dennehy apologized for her actions and poor judgment. She told the court she's continuing counseling and hopes to lead a productive life.
Dennehy was arrested in March after the photos were found circulating around the high school. She resigned three weeks later.

Baba Zula is a Turkish musical group.Known for its unique sound created by the amalgamation of natural field recordings coupled with traditional and modern acoustic and electronic instruments, Babazula, an adventurous İstanbul-based underground band has brought a brand new dimension to the alternative world music scene.

I love their music since university.One week ago I went to make a interview with them but when we started to talk my interview turned to a chat, and we have talked about their music,insprations and their life. I drank their home made wine....
It was a great experieance for me.

"Our main focus is never just about the music. Theatrics, poetry and dance are a part of it. Dance is really linked with the Oriental culture we are living. The belly dancing can be a very touristic attraction but our dancers aren't traditional, they combine lots of other elements."

It's really reasonable because nobody has a freaky stage show like them.

"Body language and music is the best way of communication, but unfortunately people prefer chatting with their masks, we think this is the main reason of disagreements, day by day people creat huge walls around them and become selfish..."

I loved their determinations about life.

"In Istanbul nobody goes to theatre, because here everybody acts. People live with their masks so nobody needs to go theatre..."

They have always guest musicians in the stage and in their albums,include , Canadian vocalist and regular collaborator Brenna MacCrimmon and Selim Sesler who span the spectrum from traditional Turkish music.

" We prefer to share our stage with others, this supports our music and inspires us, but in our last album "Kokler" we prefer to be alone except Brenna, she is already in our family."

I lived near Abbasaga Parki (this is a big park in Istanbul) for two years, and in Kokler album they have a song which name is "Abbasaga Parki".

"I'm living near Abbasaga Parki for years, I love this park because you can escape from chaotic city life in this park, but last year municipality started to change this area, I have collected the people who live near this park and we protested municipality for three months, I'm a musician so this reflected to my music..."

Babazula is a great band with eastern instrumentation such as electric saz and hand percussion, you should see them in the stage...

And you should visit Misket Wine House, you can drink home made wine in there...
